Questioner:I don’t really know yet what I really have to offer. Is Truth or Dare still for me?

Simone: If you’re waiting to play Truth or Dare until you’ve figured out what you want to offer… here’s why that is a huuuuge mistake.

The waiting game is costing you everything

Let’s be honest about what happens when you wait until everything is “perfect”:

You keep everything under wraps. You problem-solve in isolation. You experiment in the dark until you’ve “FIGURED IT OUT” — your perfect offer, your ideal positioning, your immaculate brand.

Then comes the big reveal: “Ta-daaa! Here it finally is!”

But who’s actually around to care?

Why would anyone be invested? Why would anyone trust you?

By the time you’re ready to launch, you’re already behind.

You’re forced to create buzz from scratch. You’re introducing yourself to strangers. You’re building connections from zero.

This approach isn’t just inefficient — it’s soul-crushing.

When your amazing product is ready to sell, here’s what you should already have in place:

  • a group of people who already know you, get you, and adore you
  • people who are emotionally invested in your process because they’ve seen how authentically you navigate the ups and downs
  • Had been building anticipation for what you’ve been building
  • and READY TO BUY.

This is ONLY possible when you show up before you feel “ready.”

Perfection Is Boring. Process Is Magnetic.

Nothing inspires more than watching a creative person document their journey.

Showing off something perfect is… ordinary. Expected. Forgettable.

Having the courage to let people into your messy process is… generous, magnetic, rare. It draws exactly the right people toward you.

Real-time feedback beats “market research” every time

Everybody tells you: you need to do market research. They’re not wrong. But almost everyone fucks up market research because if you just poll a bunch of people and ask: “Hey, do you want B or C? What do you like better?”, you’re gonna get a bunch of random answers that are totally irrelevant to your business because:

  • there’s zero connection between people who “happen to be around to answer” and people who are actually most likely to give you money,
  • and they’re answering your question from a totally theoretical place.

Document your actual process and let people react in real time.

Watch who moves away and who gets magnetized to your work. Let the comments and DMs guide you: warmer… cooler… warmer… WARMEST.

All other market research is laughable waste of time.

There’s a hidden cost of waiting.

I’ve lost count of how many people have come to me devastated after pouring everything into a “perfect” project kept under wraps until launch day.

They did everything “right” — even market research!

And then? Crickets. No response. No sales.

Not because their work wasn’t valuable. Not because nobody likes them.

But because they deprived themselves of (1) the invaluable opportunity to get people excited in the process, not just at the end of it, (2) real-time, relevant feedback that only comes when you share what you are doing in real time, not just your final product.

This feedback would have allowed them to pivot toward what people actually WANT to buy. But oops, they didn’t know… but you do now.

Content about a finished product is infinitely less compelling than stories from the trenches of creation — the breakthroughs, failures, and lessons learned along the way.

Think about it: we don’t watch movies that skip straight to the happy ending. That would be the most boring film ever.

You need to give people the chance to become emotionally invested in your journey. The ups. The downs. The good and the ugly. That creates authentic, powerful connections.

When people know you’re always evolving, your entire brand becomes remarkably resilient.

If you slip up or release something imperfect, your audience won’t slowly back away in horror. They’ll love you more BECAUSE of your humanity.

Wouldn’t you rather have that relationship with your audience? I certainly would. And I do! Because this is how I’ve always run my business.

I was deeply grateful for those words, and I believe the same should be true for you.

Sharing is an act of service. I share my messy middle because it feels like generosity. Withholding it deprives people of the opportunity to connect with their own humanity AND connect with you on a deeper level.

The more you show up, the more points of connection you create. And the more connection points you build, the stronger your community and the more resilient your business becomes.

Questioner: This is me… when I want to be more authentic, it comes out as a perspective on myself where I am not good enough yet. And at the same time, I don’t want coaching on it from my audience. I just want to be real and more of me.

However, me trying to show that makes me want to be truthful and complete and explain everything… (similar to now, where I want to explain to you in a way you understand what’s happening).

Simone: In my experience, whether people offer you unsolicited sympathy, advice, or coaching comes NOT from how much you explain yourself, but how much you are in your power and wholeness when you share about things that might make you feel vulnerable.

You can talk about very tender things, even as they are happening in real time… but there is a way to talk about it that commands respect instead of pity or offers to help. In fact, over-explaining might be a symptom of being somewhere other than in your power!

Because your power isn’t about being, like, RAWRRR! Your power lies in how skillful and sovereign you can be in navigating the darkness, messes, and complexities of life.

Questioner: Sometimes I feel like I’m REALLY writing with honesty, and I feel hella convicted and in flow in my writing. Yet, it doesn’t get the comments/shares to reflect it.

Now, I’m not concerned about vanity metrics truly, I just wanna know if I’m on the right track. Haha. Hope this makes sense.

Simone: If you feel hella convicted and in flow, that’s… the opposite of being so honest it scares you.

Questioner: I’m so confused. I thought being convicted and in flow was the whole point. So maybe this is not true?

Simone: What part of “be so honest you SCARE yourself” is confusing?

Questioner: Ok, so deep down the fear is = I sound all over the place. Why would people want to pay me for my service if I sound everywhere?

So I guess the real question goes back to the first one. Lol.

Simone: Scaring yourself with your honesty means pushing into those edges that genuinely scare you because it taps into a deeper fear you have.

Questioner: So I guess this goes back to dignified vulnerability, which you mentioned… and I’ll be looking forward to unpacking that. A part of me still feels the need to be seen as a coach/expert.

Simone: Yeah, you took my challenge and did the exact opposite of what I told you. If you’re feeling confident and in flow, that’s the opposite of the vulnerability that true honesty requires.

Questioner: This is what worries me, I think. How to be honest and real, equal, and still maintain the authority I need to lead and inspire. And get clients. Which I do need to pay my bills.

Simone: Yeah, this only seems like a contradiction if your authority comes from hierarchy (having something—expertise or having-your-shit-together-ness—that puts you “above” your clients).

Then you constantly have to defend and babysit your place in the hierarchy, lest your authority become threatened. When your authority to lead comes from the integration of your shadows (and therefore inner wholeness), then you never have to censor yourself, you’re completely equal to your clients, and your authority only expands with your dignified honesty.


Reading this, another questioner reflected:

Questioner: I’ve had to read this about 8 times, and it’s just finally making sense to me.

That “I really know my shit here” feeling is actually NOT helping me—it’s a signal that I’m stuck in my safe zone. Is that it?

Simone: Well, it’s certainly not helping you push into those risky edges where alchemical gold lies!

If it helps, I never feel like I know what I’m doing. Being face-planted in humility is a daily experience, and that is actually where I derive my strength and authority from, I think.

Questioner: This is big, because I never saw a single coach saying they don’t know what they are doing!

Simone: I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing at ANY point, ever.

Questioner: Omg, I have the same feeling! It’s like constant experimenting! Is that what you mean too?

Simone: Yes… and I think as long as you’re dedicated to being a student of life and a servant of God (these are the words I use because I’m religious, but if you’re not, you can think of it as being, like, a part of the Universe), life is a never-ending feast of humble pie…

And that’s kind of the whole point, right? How else are you going to grow?
