I’m Simone.

I’m a descendant of the Sunchang Seol Clan of South Korea.

I am a daughter, wife, and mother.

I grew up being nourished on centuries-old proverbs about pythons and gourds, stories of surviving unforgivingly harsh winters, syrup-sweet mountain cherries the size of beads of sweat, and naps on cool wooden floors with my grandmother’s knee as my pillow.

I am an asker of unwieldy questions.

Obsessed with large bodies of water, wild mushrooms, J.S. Bach, and deep conversations with warm-hearted humans who also feel too much, think too much, and hold onto hope for each other, and the world.

In spite of it all.
